I haven't read this book, but I beg to differ! Because I am totally interested in what these people are eating for lunch. I've been watching this flickr group for awhile now, and I'm totally hooked. I got myself a little bento box so I could join in the fun. It has totally made me want to pack a lunch before work, and I can't even begin to tell you what a feat that is. I haven't been going to the market much (except for baking ingredients!), so I've just been throwing stuff together. There isn't a lot of thought or variety in my bento yet. But you just wait! I'm so excited for fall and winter and all the yummy comfort foods. And for extra motivation to pack my lunch: I don't want to have to leave work and walk in the rain to eat. This lunch box is going to get a lot of use!
Since Maggie says y'all don't care what I have for lunch I'll try to contain myself. But if you want to know... it'll be on flickr! And if the LL bug bites you, too, I want to know!

Ok, this is really cool! Im pretty sure Im gonna need my own bento box. Where do I purchase one?
I checked out that book at the library but never read it before I had to return it (surprise surprise). You'll have to tell me what you think!
And yes I would like to know where to get a Bento Box as well. Cody needs a new home for his lunch... his cooler is starting to smell like mold. Which is SO appetizing.
kristin- i got mine at new seasons at se division & 20th. they don't actually have them at this location, but if leave a message for katherine in the home goods department she will order one & call when it's ready to pick up at the store! also, i have seen them at the whole foods in the pearl, but you have to buy the whole kit (with a plastic water bottle & insulated bag) & it was like $40. no bueno.
andrea- i would call around or you can order one from the laptop lunch website, but i called local stores because i didn't want to pay the $10-15 shipping. you know how cheap i am! oh, and they come in different color combos, too!
p.s. kristin- what happened to the writing of the blogs? i keep checking...
